1Morning 08:00 Phnom Penh - City Tour8:00 AM: Meet your guide in the hotel lobby. Departure for a visit to the Royal Palace, relocated from the former capital of Oudong in 1863. Discover the Silver Pagoda (more than 5,000 silver tiles cover the floor), home to the 90 kg gold statue of the Maitreya Buddha. Visit the Central Market, renovated thanks to a donation from France.

2Afternoon Phnom Penh - City TourIn the afternoon (depending on the scheduled time), a ferry crossing over the Tonle Sap. Stroll on Silk Island (Koh Dach), which owes its nickname to the many weavers producing silk beneath the stilts of their wooden houses. Visit Wat Phnom (a pagoda set on a hill), renovated in 1926. At the foot of the hill stands a bas-relief honoring the Franco-Siamese Treaty, sculpted by Theodore Riviere.

3Evening Phnom Penh - City TourIn the evening, a short private boat cruise along the riverfront and toward the Chroy Changvar peninsula (weather and timing permitting, sunset over the Royal Palace). Overnight in Phnom Penh.

1Morning 07:30 Phnom Penh - Mondulkiri7:30 AM: Meet in the hotel lobby, then depart directly for Mondulkiri (5 hours' drive). Mondulkiri is one of Cambodia's most unspoiled and remote provinces, home to numerous ethnic minorities. Lunch on your own.

2Afternoon Phnom Penh - MondulkiriIn the afternoon, visit Mondulkiri town center and discover two hills: the Sea Forest and Dosh Kromom. Return to the hotel.

1Morning 08:00 Mondulkiri - Trekking and Elephants8:00 AM: Meet with the group leader for a joint departure. An English-speaking local guide accompanies you to discover Poutain village, home to the Phnong (the majority ethnic group). You'll see their traditional long communal houses, now largely abandoned in favor of sturdier wooden houses. During this walk with the elephants, you'll pass through lush vegetation along a river. Elephants work no more than three hours a day; from mid-morning to mid-afternoon they are released to feed and rest. A picnic lunch is included and taken along the way. By the riverside, you can go for a swim or help bathe the elephant. Late in the day, return to town. Overnight in Mondulkiri.

1Morning 08:00 Mondulkiri - Kratie8:00 AM: Meet up, then head to Bousra Waterfall, the largest and most beautiful in Cambodia, cascading down three tiers. Visit Pich Chreada village, where you'll discover a coffee plantation and pepper vines. Next, depart for Kratie (3 hours' drive). Explore the town of Kratie, visit a pagoda dating from the 1800s, then the town center. Overnight in Kratie.

1Morning 08:30 Kratie - Koh Trong8:30 AM: Meet up, then drive along the Mekong. Boat trip on the Mekong to observe Irrawaddy dolphins, an endangered species protected at Kratie. Depending on your fitness level, you may climb Sambok Hill for a panoramic view over the region. Lunch on your own. Crossing to Koh Trong, a small island on the Mekong near Kratie, ideal for a day excursion: - Take a boat from the Kratie pier to reach Koh Trong (crossing of about 10 to 15 minutes). - Enjoy the view of the Mekong during the crossing. - Rent a bicycle to explore the island. - Visit local villages and chat with residents. - Discover the rice paddies and picturesque scenery. Late in the day, return to Kratie town. Enjoy the sunset over the river.

1Morning 08:00 Preah Vihear: Sraem Village - Siem Reap8:00 AM: Meet up, then depart toward Koh Ker, a temple built by King Jayavarman IV (928-942 AD). Koh Ker features a 35-meter-high temple whose design evokes a seven-tiered pyramid, a rarely visited archaeological site and former capital of the Khmer Empire for a brief period. Lunch on your own. Next, head to Beng Mealea, the "blueprint" of Angkor. Visit this jungle-swallowed temple, built 30 years before Angkor Wat. Overnight in Siem Reap.

1Morning 08:00 Siem Reap - Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm and Angkor WatBreakfast at the hotel. 8:00 AM: depart the hotel to explore Angkor Thom (the Great City) via the South Gate. Discover the Bayon, with its 54 towers bearing four faces each, then the Baphuon, the Royal Palace, the Terrace of the Leper King, and the Terrace of the Elephants. Next, visit Ta Prohm temple, overtaken by silk-cotton trees, where scenes from the Lara Croft film were shot. Lunch on your own.

2Afternoon Siem Reap - Kulen Mountain - Tonle Sap Floating VillageVisit Kampong Khleang village, about 50 km from Siem Reap. Its roughly ten thousand inhabitants live almost exclusively from fishing. You'll explore the canals (rainy season) or streets (dry season) of this incredible floating town, then a pagoda decorated with lovely murals. Boat trip to one of the village houses to learn more about the life of fishermen on the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia.

1Morning Siem Reap - BattambangAfter breakfast, head to Battambang (3 hours). Arrival in Battambang, visit a traditional house in Wat Kor village, built during the colonial era and run by the third generation of the same family. Then board for an amazing experience: the Bamboo Train, running along a 7 km stretch of a former railway line. Next, head to Phnom Sampeou (16 km from Battambang). At the top of a limestone outcrop stands a cluster of temples now home to monkeys, offering a superb view over the surrounding plains. Wait for the bats to emerge from the cave at nightfall. Check in at the hotel. Overnight in Battambang.

1Morning BattambangMorning: explore Cambodia's second-largest city. Stop at the vibrant local market. We follow the river along its right bank to visit Wat Samroung Knong, built in 1707 (an old pagoda decorated with precious wood); at the rear stands a memorial to the children who died during the Khmer Rouge era. Optional, time permitting: cross the river to visit a rice-paper factory, see how krolann (bamboo sticky rice) is prepared, the prahoc (fermented fish paste) market, Ek Phnom temple, an incense-stick workshop, Vat Damrei Sar pagoda (early 20th century), and a small museum. Also optional: a ride on the "Bamboo Train."

1Morning 16:00 Battambang - Phnom PenhDepart Battambang for the small town of Pursat, halfway to Phnom Penh. In Pursat: visit Kampong Luong by private boat, an astonishing floating town of nearly 12,000 residents that shifts position with the level of the lake. Visit the potters' village in Kampong Chhnang and the goldsmiths' village in Oudong. 36 km before Phnom Penh, visit the province's finest pagoda, at the foot of Oudong Hill (Cambodia's former capital from the 17th to the 19th century). Expected arrival in Phnom Penh between 4:00 and 4:30 PM. Overnight in Phnom Penh (hotel to be booked by you).
